Valdhuber Čeh

Valdhuber Čeh

The beginnings of farming on our estate date back to 1881 when Franz Wruss (great-grandfather) purchased the property at Ciringa, a beautiful sunny location that millions of years ago was home to the coral reef of the Pannonian Sea. Initially, the farm was primarily focused on fruit growing, with only a small vineyard planted on the landslide-prone terrain. Over the next 100 years, our ancestors gradually transformed the farm, shifting its focus predominantly to viticulture. In the 1990s, Jožica and Engelbert Valdhuber undertook extensive renovations, revitalizing every corner of the estate. They invested in new agricultural machinery, modernized the cellar, and set up everything necessary for wine bottling. The year 2002 was pivotal for the further development and rise of the vineyard estate, as the first liter of wine blend was bottled, followed by bottled wines in the years to come. This marked the beginning of supplying bottled wine to taverns and restaurants in Maribor, Ljubljana, and other parts of Slovenia. In 2012, with immense gratitude and a strong desire for new knowledge, Alenka Valdhuber and Robert Čeh took over the farm. Together with the family (grandmother Jožica, grandfather Engelbert, and sons Luka, Jaka, and Maks), they lovingly cultivate 5 hectares of vineyards, striving to produce premium wines and other homemade products. We have set the same goals and viticultural ambitions as the generations before us. With dedication and respectful care for the vines, we cultivate the following grape varieties: Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Muscat Silvaner, Yellow Muscat, Pinot Gris, Rhine Riesling, Welschriesling, and Pinot Blanc. We have also created a cozy tasting room where you can enjoy our selected wines and indulge in other homemade delights with friends. On sunny days, you can relax under the old hayrack, quietly telling the story of the vineyard farm at Ciringa 6.

Pinot Grigio

Pinkish-salmon colour, a distinct feature of macerated pinot gris. Nuanced in its bouquet, with hints of dried tropic fruit. An amazingly full-bodied wine with a slight mineral note.
