Puklavec Family Wines

Puklavec Family Wines

Puklavec Family Wines is the largest Slovenian family-owned winery. The Puklavec family's wine story began in 1934 when Martin Puklavec set forth his vision: to create the finest wines together. His philosophy remains deeply rooted in our work and is reflected in the core values of Puklavec Family Wines: passion, hard work, and dedication to the highest quality. Today, Martin's and his father's vision is carried forward by Tatjana Puklavec, working closely with local winegrowers. Our wines are born in the heart of the picturesque Ljutomer-Ormož Hills, in the Podravje wine region, where we currently cultivate 507 hectares of vineyards. The soils are heavy to medium-heavy, yet the excellent microclimatic conditions provide the perfect environment for vine cultivation. The following grape varieties thrive here: Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Merlot, Blaufränkisch, Pinot Noir, Muscaris, Muscat Ottonel, Radgona Ranina, Rhine Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Yellow Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Pinot Gris, Solaris, Furmint, and Gewürztraminer. The average age of our vineyards is around 15 years. The result is elegant wines crafted with uncompromising attention to detail. They are beautifully harmonious and expressive, much like the landscape that nurtures our vineyards.
